How to budget for a K-pop concert

A ticket price is a starting point. Build a complete budget before choosing a date, especially when travelling from another country.

Six costs to check

  1. Use the final ticket total, including booking fees. Do not add a fee twice if the displayed price already includes it.
  2. Price the return journey and the last train or bus after the show.
  3. Add accommodation only when you need it. Check cancellation terms.
  4. Set a food and merchandise limit before joining the queue.
  5. Check passport, entry and payment requirements with the relevant official providers.
  6. Keep a separate buffer for a late finish or a changed journey.

A worked example

This is an illustration, not an event quote: £60 ticket + £5 fees + £12 travel + £0 hotel + £20 food and merchandise + £10 buffer = £107 total. Saving across eight weeks means £13.38 per week, rounded up. Replace every number with a real offer in one currency; currency conversion and overseas card charges can increase the total.

Before the presale

Open the artist, agency, venue and ticket seller's own announcement. Some fan presales need a particular membership and advance verification. A notebook subscription here does not provide artist fan-club access, tickets or presale eligibility.

If an announcement is unclear, wait for the official seller's clarification rather than a repost. Screenshots can omit deadlines or rules. Keep the announcement URL alongside your budget.
